
C Baker Transferred from Staten Island to Trenton

Trenton Thunder News Release
(Portland, ME)- The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, have announced that C Ryan Baker has been transferred from the roster of the Staten Island Yankees (SS) to Trenton. Also, OF Seth Fortenberry has been transferred from Trenton's roster to the roster of the Staten Island Yankees.
Fortenberry has appeared in 38 games for the Thunder this season, and has a .160 BA with eight RBI. He was transferred to the roster of the Staten Island Yankees on May 23rd and returned to Trenton's roster on June 1st. The native of Waco, TX was drafted by the Yankees in the 11th round of the 2006 draft out of Baylor University.
Baker has not appeared in a game this season. He split the 2008 season between the GCL Yankees and Tampa (High-A). He appeared in two games for Tampa (2 x 7). He hit .077 in 10 games for GCL Yankees. He was signed as non-drafted free agent on 6/12/08.
Trenton and Portland play the rubber game of their series on Sunday afternoon from Hadlock Field in Portland, ME. RHP Ryan Pope (2-4, 5.16) will start for Trenton against Portland RHP Junichi Tazawa (6-3, 2.79). Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
