TRAVERSE CITY, MI - The Traverse City Beach Bums'(22-30) couldn't overcome a quick Evansville Otters(30-21) start, dropping this weekend's series opener, 9-2.

In the bottom of the inning, the Beach Bums offense got some momentum. With one out, Steven Patterson singled to center and Jose Vargas, returning from the disabled list, walked. Will Kengor drove in the first run with a single to left, scoring Patterson, and the Bums trailed 6-1.
