
Bulls Take Command Of South With Win

Richmond, VA - The Durham Bulls beat the Richmond Braves 5-1 Thursday at The Diamond. The Bulls broke a tight game open with a three run seventh and now lead Richmond by two games in the South Division with four to play. Richmond still clings to a half-game lead in the Wild Card chase.
The Bulls snapped a scoreless tie in the fourth inning on a home run by Wes Bankston, his fourth against Richmond in 2007. The Bulls fattened their lead to 2-0 in the sixth on an RBI single by Raul Casanova. Richmond picked up a run in the home half on an RBI single by Julio Franco. The Bulls took command in the seventh on a three-run homer by Jason Pridie making the score 5-1.
Jae Kuk Ryu did not allow an earned run in 5.2 innings and collected the win. Dan Smith took the loss. Franco had two of Richmond's three hits. Bankston and Casanova had two hits each for the Bulls.
The Braves visit Norfolk Friday at 7:15. Jeff Bennett is slated to pitch for Richmond against Andy Mitchell. The Braves and Tides close the regular season with games at The Diamond Sunday and Monday at 2 PM. For more information please call 359-4444 or visit www.rbraves.com.
