DURHAM, NC -Dan Johnson led the way offensively for the Bulls with a home run and three RBI in their 10-6 victory over the Rochester Red Wings on Tuesday night at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The win moves the Bulls to a season high 17 games over .500.

The Bulls offense got things going in the bottom of the third inning when John Matulia led off with a triple. JJ Furmaniak grounded out to drive him in and knot the game at one. Reid Brignac then followed with a triple of his own to center field and would later score on a dropped third strike by Red Wings catcher Steve Holm. After a John Jaso single, Dan Johnson lined a double to left-center field to score Ray Olmedo. Russ Canzler followed with a two-run double to cap a five run inning for the Bulls making it 5-1.

Stephen Vogt added his third home run of the season off of Kyle Waldrop in the fifth inning to give the Bulls an 8-1 lead. Andy Sonnanstine (2-3) went five and two-thirds innings allowing seven hits and three runs striking out seven to earn the win. Jay Buente, Joe Bateman, and Dane De La Rosa combined to go three and a third innings out of the bullpen allowing three runs only two of which were earned.

The Bulls pounded out 13 hits as a team and got multi-hit games from Furmaniak, Matulia, Canzler, Johnson, and Jaso. Jaso, in his first game on his rehab assignment with the Bulls, collected two hits and knocked in two runs.

Durham will continue their four-game series with the Rochester Red Wings on Wednesday August 9 at 7:05 p.m. The Bulls will send Ryan Reid (1-0) to the mound against a starter that is yet to be determined for the Red Wings.
