
Bulls Add Two Veteran Forwards

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The San Francisco Bulls Professional Hockey Team, proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, announced today that forwards Anthony Aquino and Mark Lee have agreed to terms. Forwards Andrew Hamburg, Paul Chiasson and Don Maloney, Jr. have been released from Bulls Training Camp.
"Anthony and Mark are going to add some more scoring punch to our offense," said SF Bulls President and Head Coach Pat Curcio. "They have produced at high levels in Europe, and should be able to continue that production here in North America."
Aquino, 31, has played in seven different professional leagues in six different countries. Most recently, the 5-foot, 10-inch, 175-pound, Mississauga, Ontario native spent six out of the last seven seasons in Italy's top league. In 2010-11, he set a career-high in Italy with 49 points (17 goals, 32 assists) in 40 games, ranking third on the team. He played alongside Bulls forward Ryan McDonough. Prior to playing in Italy, France, Sweden, Norway and Germany, Aquino produced 53 points (27 goals, 26 assists) in 62 games with the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL in 2003-04. Aquino also played in seven games with the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL). Prior to turning pro, he played three seasons with Merrimack College, captaining the team in his senior year. He led Merrimack in scoring two out of three seasons. Aquino was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the third round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. He has also represented Italy on the international level.
Lee, 29, spent the previous three seasons playing in Finland. The 5-foot, 11-inch, 184-pound native of Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, set Finnish career-highs in 2010-11 with 11 goals, 25 assists and 36 points in 53 games with Ilves. He also played one season in Denmark, serving as an alternate captain for Esbjerg. Prior to heading overseas, Lee recorded nine points (4 goals, 5 assists) in 52 AHL games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Hartford Wolf Pack. He also compiled 191 points (64 goals, 127 assists) in 178 ECHL games with Trenton Titans, Charlotte Checkers and Florida Everblades.
