Kalamazoo, MI- On the eve of their first preseason game, the Kalamazoo Wings have trimmed their roster by releasing forward Anthony Maiani (MY-ah-knee).
With just over a week and a half until they play their first regular season game, the K-Wings roster now stands at 24 players.
Kalamazoo will get their first taste of preseason game action on Wednesday, October 9th with a 7p.m. face-off versus the Toledo Walleye.
On Friday, October 11th, the K-Wings will remain home, this time in The Annex for a 7:30 p.m. face-off versus the Fort Wayne Komets.
Closing out their preseason schedule on Saturday, October 12th the K-Wings will travel to the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio for a 7:15 p.m. encounter versus the Walleye.
Fans that can't make it to any preseason games can still listen to all the action on the radio or on line. For the second straight season, all games (home and away) can be heard live at 92.5 WZUU or at kwings.com starting 15 minutes prior to face-off with the Kalsee Credit Union Pregame Show.
Fans looking to get a sneak peek of this year's team can purchase tickets for the K-Wings preseason home games for only $5. All K-Wings season ticket holders will receive a FREE ticket for both preseason home games.
Tickets for all 36 K-Wings home games and two preseason games are currently on sale at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster locations, including www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000. Ticket office hours are Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturdays.
Regular season ticket prices for home games are $13 and $17.50 for adults and only $7 for kids ages 12 and under. The price for all K-Wings premium night games (all colored ice games and the New Year's Eve game) are just $1 more. Fans can save money by purchasing K-Wings single-game tickets in advance. Tickets purchased on the day of a game increase by $2 (adults only).
Fans that plan on attending multiple games can avoid service fees plus enjoy a discount from the single-game price by purchasing a 12, 24 or 36-game flexi-plan. These plans, along with full-season and group ticket packages may be ordered through the K-Wings Sales office by calling (269) 743-6011.
Kalamazoo's 40th Anniversary season will commence on Saturday, October 19th at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana against the Evansville IceMen.
The K-Wings will drop the puck for their home opener on Saturday, October 26th with a 7:30 p.m. face-off versus the Evansville IceMen during the 10th Annual Orange Ice Game presented by Meijer and WZUU (92.5 FM). Fans are encouraged to dress in costumes for Halloween festivities including a chance to win $100 for both an adult and child in the K-Wings' best costume contest.
