Green Bay Rockers News Release
Green Bay, Wis.- The Green Bay Bullfrogs will send Parker Hamilton to the mound tonight in Game 2 of the series, following last night's 5-3 loss to the Duluth Huskies.
Duluth took Game 1 to take a 2-1 season series lead thanks to a big hit by Jean Figueroa.
The Bullfrogs scored a run in the top of the first inning to take an early lead. Logan Taylor led off the game with a leadoff bunt single and advanced to third on a double by Robb Paller off the right-field wall. Danny Rosenbaum's sacrifice fly scored Taylor to give the Bullfrogs a 1-0 advantage.
After a perfect first inning with two strikeouts, Bullfrogs' starter Luke Lind ran into trouble in the second. The Huskies loaded the bases with a single, a hit-by-pitch and a walk. Two batters later, Figueroa connected on a grand-slam home run to give Duluth a 4-1 lead.
The Huskies added to their lead in the fifth inning with a wild pitch to score Alex Greene.
Green Bay cut the deficit to two in the top of the sixth. Following singles from Desi Ammons and Matthew De La Rosa, Ty Blankmeyer hit a groundball to second base, and Jimmy Heck's error allowed Ammons to score. Taylor's RBI groundout cut the lead to 5-3.
Hamilton will look to lead Green Bay to a season split with the Huskies tonight on the road. He has yet to face Duluth this season and has a 2-2 record with a 3.48 earned run average in six starts. Hamilton threw 3 2/3 innings on July 8 against the Battle Creek Bombers. He gave up two runs on four hits and three walks with a strikeout in a 10-9 win for the Bullfrogs.
The Huskies will start Toby Anderson on the mound. He has a 3.61 earned run average and a 3-2 record in seven starts this season. Anderson last pitched on July 9 against the St. Cloud Rox. He did not have a decision in the game and three earned runs on six hits and four walks with two strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings of a 5-4 loss. Anderson will be making his first start against the Bullfrogs.
First pitch will be at 6:35 p.m. from Wade Stadium in Duluth.
Green Bay is in the midst of a seven-game road trip, and the Bullfrogs return to Joannes Stadium on July 18 for a two-game series with the Kenosha Kingfish before the All-Star break.
Single game tickets are on sale now. Visit www.greenbaybullfrogs.com to purchase tickets. The Bullfrogs' business hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
