
Bullfrogs Held to Five Hits, Defeated by St. Cloud

Green Bay, Wis. - The Green Bay Bullfrogs bats were held in check on Saturday night for their game against the St. Cloud Rox, as they managed only one run on five hits and fell to St. Cloud by a score of 7-1. Rox starting pitcher Reese Gregory (St. Cloud State) threw six strong innings, giving up the only run to Green Bay on just four hits. Gregory picked up the win to improve his overall record to 4-1 on the season.
Gregory got plenty of run support from St. Cloud on Saturday, as the Rox scored their seven runs on ten hits, spanning six different innings. St. Cloud scored the first five runs of the game to open up a 5-0 lead on Green Bay after four and a half innings of play.
Green Bay scored their one run of the game on a Ryan Howell (Chabot) solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning. It was Howell's team-high fourth home run of the season. He finished the night 3-for-4.
After Howell's home run in the fifth inning, St. Cloud added one run in both the seventh and ninth innings to take a 7-1 lead over Green Bay.
Kade Scivicque (Louisiana State) was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI for the Rox while Liam Bedford (Doane College) went 2-for-5 with two runs scored. Seth Heck added three RBI's for St. Cloud and finished the night 3-for-4.
Corey Fischer (Madison College) started on the mound for the Bullfrogs and took the loss. Fischer threw three and two-thirds innings, giving up three runs on five hits for Green Bay.
The Bullfrogs will now head to Mequon, Wis. for a two-game series against the Lakeshore Chinooks on Sunday and Monday. First pitch is scheduled for 5:05 PM from Kapco Park on Sunday night.
