
Bullfrogs Fall in Extras to the Express, 8-5

Green Bay, Wis. - A tough loss for the Bullfrogs as they fall to the Express 8-5 in extra innings. This was the second extra inning ballgame for the Bullfrogs in the last three games, the Bullfrogs are 0-2. Their current record sits at 10-18 and are 1-3 on the current home stand.
The Express came out early and plated two runs after Alex McKenna (Cal Poly) and Mickey McDonald (UI-Chicago) began the game with back to back base hits. They would score on a ground out by Daulton Varsho (UW-Milwuakke) and a sac fly by Jared Mang (New Mexico).
The scoring would continue in the first as the Bullfrogs would cut the deficit in half after a RBI single by Quincy Nieporte (Florida State) scored Marcus Shoemaker (Lenoir Rhyne). The Bullfrogs would tie the game in the bottom of the second off a RBI single by Chris Botsoe (Louisville). He would then steal second and third to set up the go ahead run as Botsoe beat the throw home off a Brian Lees ground ball.
Stuart Springer (St. Edwards) got the start for the Bullfrogs, he went six innings allowing four runs on seven hits. The bullpen for the Bullfrogs would shine as Graf and Egly threw three and two-third innings of scoreless baseball.
The game was tied after nine as the Bullfrogs and Exprwas headed into extras. The Express would break open the tie ballgame in the 11th. They scored four runs off of four hits and one Bullfrog error. The Bullfrogs were able to get the go ahead run to the plate but would be unable to finish the comeback.
Matt McCarthy (Penn State) got the loss for the Bullfrogs. Botsoe finished with two hits and two RBIs. Nieporte had three hits and Hill Alexander (Midland) had two hits.
The Bullfrogs will play a home-home double header against the Wisconsin Woodchucks. The first game starting at 11:35am at Joannes Stadium. The second game will begin at 6:35pm from Wausau.
