DURHAM BULLS AND TRIPLE-A BASEBALL JOIN FORCES WITH MARVEL ENTERTAINMENT
Triple-A Baseball and Marvel Entertainment have teamed up for an exclusive partnership that brings together two true forms of Americana - baseball and comic books. The first wave of the partnership hits throughout August where on select dates all 30 Triple-A teams will be handing out an exclusive baseball-themed comic book featuring Marvel characters Spider-Man, Iron-Man, the Fantastic Four and the Incredible Hulk. The Durham Bulls will hand out 2,500 copies at the gates on Thursday, August 16th as the Bulls take on the Indianapolis Indians at 7:00 PM. Gates will open at 6:00 PM.
TOP PROSPECT EVAN LONGORIA JOINS BULLS
Tampa Bay Devil Rays top prospect Evan Longoria, the third overall selection in the 2006 June Amateur Draft, has joined the Durham Bulls as they make they're push for the 2007 Governors' Cup. Longoria dominated Double-A pitching playing in Montgomery this season, hitting .307 with a Southern League-Leading 21 home runs, 76 RBIs and 78 runs. Longoria was also second in the Southern League with 117 hits, third in slugging percentage (.528), fifth in on-base percentage (.403) and seventh in batting average.
DBAP NAMED PETA'S MOST VEGETARIAN FREINDLY MINOR LEAGUE BALLPARK
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) today announced the Durham Bulls Athletic Park was their 2007 Most Vegetarian-Friendly Minor League Ballpark in recognition of their extensive vegetarian menu at Durham Bulls games.

DBYAL EQUIPMENT DRIVE SET FOR SATURDAY, AUGUST 18
The Durham Bulls and Fidelity Investments are teaming up for the third of four sports equipment drives on Saturday, August 18th to benefit the Durham Bulls Youth Athletic League. Those who donate new or slightly used bats or gloves will receive a commemorative baseball and case, courtesy of Fidelity and the company's Inspire the Future program.
MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL DRAWS ALMOST 10 MILLION FANS IN JULY
Minor League Baseball attracted just short of 10-million fans in July and remained firmly on track to set a new all-time regular season attendance record for the fourth consecutive season. Total attendance for the 175 teams in affiliated baseball was 9,927,386, an increase of 84,122 over the July attendance in 2006. The big turnouts in July pushed the season total to 32,591,987 fans, an increase of 991,922 (3.1 percent) over the total through July a year ago. Minor League Baseball attracted a record 41,710,357 fans in 2006.

The Durham Bulls, in conjunction with the Lance Armstrong Foundation, will hold a silent jersey auction at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park on August 19th as the Bulls take on the Louisville Bats at 5:00 PM. The Bulls will wear special yellow jerseys featuring the LIVESTRONG logo during the game as fans bid on the jerseys from 4:00 PM through the seventh inning.
