OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. - Hamilton Bulldogs forward Daniel Carr scored the game-winning goal with 1:25 to go in regulation as the 'Dogs (34-28-12-0) went on to defeat the Oklahoma City Barons (39-27-5-3) 5-3 on Tuesday night at Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Hamilton forward Charles Hudon got the scoring started at 13:32 of the first period when he tipped home a shot for his 18th goal of the season, assisted by forward Sven Andrighetto and defenceman Morgan Ellis.
Less than four minutes later, an errant shot by Bulldogs forward Brandon McNally bounced off the back boards, then off of Barons goaltender Laurent Brossoit and into the net. McNally's second goal of the season was unassisted and gave the 'Dogs a 2-0 lead.
Just 1:27 into the second period, the Barons cut the 'Dogs lead in half when forward Kyle Platzer tipped a point shot from forward Andrew Miller past Hamilton goaltender Mike Condon. Forward Ryan Hamilton had a second assist on the play.
Hamilton forward Drayson Bowman redirected a corner pass from forward T.J. Hensick past Brossoit just over two minutes into the third period to give the 'Dogs a 3-1 lead. Bowman's 14th goal of the season was also assisted by forward Nick Sorkin.
At 10:04 of the third period, OKC defenceman Brad Hunt's point shot beat Condon to cut Hamilton's lead to 3-2. Forwards Matthew Ford and Connor Jones had assists.
With 3:31 to go in the final frame, Platzer buried a wrist shot through a screen to tie things up, 3-3, assisted by defenceman Jordan Oesterle and forward Curtis Hamilton.
Just over two minutes later, Carr notched his team-leading 24th goal of the season to put the 'Dogs ahead for good, 4-3. McNally and defenceman Josiah Didier assisted.
Ellis potted an empty-net goal with four seconds to play for his third tally of the season to seal if for Hamilton, 5-3. Forward Gabriel Dumont had the only assist.
Condon made 23 saves on 26 shots for the Bulldogs in the win, while Brossoit stopped 16 of 20 shots faced for the Barons in the loss.
Hamilton was 0-for-3 on the power play, while OKC went 0-for-5 on the man advantage.
With the win, the Bulldogs stay alive in the Western Conference playoff picture, sitting three points back of the Toronto Marlies with two games to go.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday, April 17 when they'll visit the Lake Erie Monsters at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio at 7:30 p.m. The 'Dogs will return home for their final AHL regular season game on Fan Appreciation Night, Saturday, April 18, when they'll host the Lake Erie Monsters at FirstOntario Centre at 7 p.m.
