Bulldogs sign two former NCAA D-1 stars

Corning, NY. William Campbell (6'8, 275 lbs, Power Forward) and Al Stewart (5'11, 170 lbs, Point Guard) have signed contracts to play with the ABA Corning Bulldogs this upcoming 2007-2008 season.

Campbell, who is native of nearby Elmira, NY will be one of the premier post players in the ABA. Campbell averaged 17 ppg, 7 rpg per game previously on the professional level playing in France and has demonstrated excellent skills on the NCAA D-1 level while playing at the University of Alabama Birmingham. Campbell averaged 12 ppg and 9 rpg during his senior season. He was named to the Conference USA All-Conference team during his Junior and Senior seasons.

Stewart, who is a native of Chicago, has just recently completed his senior season at NCAA D-1 Drake University. Stewart was among the top NCAA D-1 point guards in the nation his past two seasons averaging 9.8 ppg, 4.7 apg, 3.1 rpg, 2.0 spg while shooting 50% from the field for his Junior season. He followed that up[ with averages of 7.8 ppg, 5.5 apg, 4.1 rpg, 1.3 spg while shooting 51% from the field for his Senior season. Stewart's 174 total assists his senior season is a Drake University single season school record.

Corning Bulldogs co-Owner/GM and Head Coach, James R. Schutz, stated, "Big Will and Al are huge signings for the team and will help in the quest to win the ABA championship in season one. The big time player signings are just getting started. When the roster is finalized, it will be one of the best rosters ever assembled outside of the NBA.
