Ask the CEO
June 11, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Following the Ask the CEO about other leagues recruiting ABA teams and letting teams back into the ABA, here are a few of the comments received from fans. Thought you would like to read them. And to those of you who took the time to write, thank you. Much appreciated.
From AW, Denver: "We don't have an ABA team in Denver. Wish we did. But from my point of view, ethics are important. Hang in there."
From BC, Tulsa: "I agree with you Mr. Newman. It doesn't seem right for other leagues to solicit your teams. Can't they find any of their own?"
From JW, Baltimore: "I'm glad we got an ABA team here. We don't need a team in a league that doesn't have ethics or sportsmanship."
From KM, Los Angeles: "Joe. You are right on target. Competition should be clean and fair. Evidently, your competition doesn't know the meaning of the words."
From RC, South Florida: "It's a shame you have to endure this type of piracy. I can't imagine any other industry that would allow this. Your competition isn't very nice."
From LM, NYC: "You're growing and they're not. There is a reason. And it starts with ethics, honesty and integrity. Good luck to you."
From BL, Pittsburgh: "Thanks for saying you'll take teams back. I hope the Xplosion goes back to the ABA."
We did have a few negative comments, but the positive ones far outnumbered them. Again, thank you for your support. It really does make us feel good. If you have a question, email conniejoenewman@aol.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
