Gwizzlies Tryout Camp A Success

June 11, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Georgia Gwizzlies News Release

Macon, GA. The ABA Georgia Gwizzlies were successful at its June 10th tryout camp at Morgan County High School in Madison, Georgia. Coach Zacharias Parimeros, who also resides in NYC, flew all the way from Athens, Greece to run the camp - and according to all who attended - "it was run with tact, skill and organization." As a result, Coach Parimeros will join the team as Associate Head Coach. According to team owner, Embry Malone, "He drew rave reviews from local coaches, fans and the free agent players."

Nine of the players at the camp were from Middle and South Georgia ranging from 6'9" Kevin Armstrong to 5'11" Anthony Williams. But Chicago native 6'8" shooting guard Jason Warren and 6'9" Tyrone Beale of Baltimore brought the most praise from fans in attendance with their skills and talent.

Patrick Glory, team Marketing Manager, has been elevated to the dual position of spokesperson for the organization and will speak to Macon public officials next month. On August 25th, the Gwizzlies organization will attend the Basketball Rivalry Union of Southwest Macon High School and Baldwin High School. The legendary SW Macon Coach Don Richardson will be coaching in the ballgame and nearly 5000 tickets are expected to be sold at the Macon Centerplex.

The Gwizzlies organization is planning a 3-on-3 tournament at Macon's Memorial Park, East Macon and Bloomfield Recreation Centers in late summer. For more information, email patrickglory1982@yahoo.com, gwizzlies@msn.com or visit www.abalive.com.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
