Bulldogs Finish 2012-2013 Season with 4-1 Loss to Amerks

Hamilton, Ontario - The Rochester Americans defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 4-1 on Sunday afternoon in front of 6,546 fans at Copps Coliseum. Matt Ellis scored the game-winner and Matt Hackett stopped 30 of 31 shots for the Americans.

The Americans opened the scoring at 6:52 of the opening frame as Luke Adam snapped a shot from the left circle which was tipped by Maxime Legault at the bottom of the circle past Hamilton Bulldogs starting goaltender Jacob Gervais-Chouinard.

The Bulldogs tied the game at 4:39 of the second period on the power play as Frederic St-Denis wired a wrist shot from the right circle past Hackett.

Rochester took the lead at 12:50 of the second stanza as Jason Beattie threw a pass from the right corner to Ellis in the slot who deked around Gervais-Chouinard and slid it in.

At 17:47 of the third frame Dan Catenacci went flying down the right side and dished a pass to Phil Varone in the slot who buried the puck by Gervais-Chouinard. Frederick Roy added the empty netter for the Amerks at 18:06 of the third period. The Americans outshot the Bulldogs 37-31.
