The Otters took a 1-0 lead at 8:19, however Arthur Kaliyev (25, 26) took over scoring twice as Hamilton took a 2-1 lead to the dressing room.
The Otters tied the game 2-2 at 9:23 of the 2nd period only to see the Bulldogs re-take the lead as Matthew Strome (14) scored to make it 3-2 Hamilton.
Erie scored the only goal of the 3rd period at 13:49 to tie the game 3-3 to force overtime.
