'Bugs Release Opening Night Roster, Captains

Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release
BOSSIER CITY, LA - The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs of the Central Hockey League today announced the names of the 18 players on their 2009-10 season opening roster, as well as this year's team Captains. The Mudbugs will open their 13th season tomorrow night against the rival Laredo Bucks at 7:05 pm at the CenturyTel Center.
The Mudbugs will start the 09-10 season with 18 players on their active roster:

Wearing the "C" this season as team Captain will be forward Brett Smith, who served as an Alternate Captain for the first time in his career last season. Smith is the only returning letter-wearer from last year after the retirement of forward Chris Brassard and defenseman Quade Lightbody, who were the two other team Captains from 08-09. In his fifth year with the franchise, Smith will follow Dale Henry, Jim Sprott, Forbes MacPherson, Dan Wildfong and Brassard as the sixth team Captain in franchise history.
Serving as Bossier-Shreveport's two Assistant Captains this year will be forwards Travis Clayton and Neil Clark. Clayton was a longtime Assistant Captain for the Wichita Thunder before joining the Mudbugs as a free agent last season, while Clark's "A" will mark the first time he has been named a team Captain in his four-year pro career.
