
Bucs Win in Overtime, 3-2

DES MOINES - The Des Moines Buccaneers stopped a 7 game losing streak in it's paths tonight with an overtime win against the Chicago Steel. Andrew Himelson would score the game winning goal in the overtime period, his first of the season. The final score of the game would be 3-2.
The first period both teams were stride for stride as neither offense was able to score. The second period started with a Chicago goal less than one minute after the period started. Josh Balch would score 11:15 into the period, off of assists from J.P. Burkemper and Nick Pryor. The goal would be Balch's first since returning to the ice after an injury. Chicago would answer back with a goal at the 12:16 mark. Goalie Aaron Crandall would be awared an assist on Rocco Carzo's powerplay goal 15:53 into the period. The goal, also assisted by Ryan Walters, would tie the game at 2-2.
The third period would go scoreless, sending the game into a overtime period. The 2000 fans at Buccaneer Arena were on their feet as Andrew Himelson was able to score at the 2:13 mark with an assist from H.T. Lenz.
The Buccaneers raised their record to 7-23-3 and will hit the road tomorrow; playing Sioux City on Friday night and Cedar Rapids on Saturday.
