Urbandale (IA) The Des Moines Buccaneers have finalized a trade with the Muskegon Lumberjacks that brings a 2011 NHL draft pick and Division I committed defensemen to the team just in time for the postseason push. Des Moines receives Nick Seeler from Muskegon in exchange for a first round pick in the 2012 USHL Entry Draft.

Seeler, a native of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, is committed to the University of Nebraska-Omaha and was a fifth-round pick by the Minnesota Wild in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

"Nick has good size, mobility and he's very competitive," said Bucs' head coach Simon. "He plays with passion every night. His intangibles along with his talent level will be a good injection into our line-up."

In 32 games with Muskegon this season, Seeler had 15 points (2 goals, 13 assists) and had a plus/minus rating of -8 along with 32 PIMS.

The Buccaneers (13-18-3) are back in action this weekend playing at Lincoln on Friday and then at home on Saturday at 7pm versus Tri-City. Saturday's game is a Bud Light Night with $2.50 Bud Light served all game.

The Des Moines Buccaneers ware playing their 32nd consecutive season in the United States Hockey League beginning in the fall of 2011. Since 1980, the Buccaneers have produced hundreds of NCAA Division I players and dozens of professional alumni.
