Bucks Win Five Straight

(11/18/02) The red-hot Laredo Bucks have compiled a five-game winning streak to move into second place in the Central Hockey League's Southeast Division. The Bucks are 8-0-2 in their last ten games, including three wins last week. The Bucks swept a home-and-home series with Corpus Christi Thursday (5-4) and Friday (6-4), then rocked San Angelo 7-3 on Saturday before 7,154 fans at the Laredo Entertainment Center. Player/assistant coach Chris Grenville racked up four goals and five assists for a total of nine points in three games. Eric Schneider also posted nine points to boost his league-leading total to 25. The Bucks lead the league in offense, scoring 4.29 goals per game.

The Bucks also helped raise $1,150 for Special Olympics with a jersey raffle and silent auction Saturday night. The contest winners were Gretel Lackey and Juan Omero Sanchez. This Thursday, November 21, the Bucks will participate in Laredo's Great American Smokeout to fight lung cancer. The event takes place from 11:30am-1:00pm at Mercy Cancer Center.
