Laredo Bucks News Release
LAREDO, Texas â The Laredo Bucks matched their longest win streak of the season at five straight as they swept another three-in-three weekend. Laredo improved to 15-3-1 and leads the CHL with 31 points and remains in first place in the Southeast division. The Bucks rallied to defeat Rio Grande Valley 4-2 on Thanksgiving night at the LEC. Friday night the Bucks came back again, this time the Bucks were down 3-0 with less than 18 minutes left in regulation, but rallied for a 4-3 shootout win in San Angelo. Saturday the Bucks beat the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees 5-3 at the Dodge Arena to complete the weekend sweep. The Bucks are on the road this Thursday in Odessa and Friday in Austin. BUCKS VS. UPCOMING OPPONENTS
ODESSA JACKALOPES
· The Bucks are 1-0-0 against Odessa this season. Laredo shutout the Jackalopes 4-0 on 11/16 at the LEC. Last year the Bucks were 3-1-1 against Odessa in the regular season. The Bucks beat the Jackalopes 3-2 in the first round of the playoffs.
AUSTIN ICE BATS
· The Bucks are 3-1-0 this year against the Ice Bats. The Bucks are 2-0-0 at home against Austin. Laredo split a two-game road series in Austin. The Bucks won 6-2 on 11/14, Austin rebounded with a 3-1 win on 11/15. Last year Laredo was 3-7-0 against Austin. The Ice Bats defeated the Bucks 4-2 in the Southern Conference Finals.
COLORADO EAGLES
· This will be the first ever meeting between the franchises. The Eagles are members of this years CHL expansion class, while the Bucks debuted last season.
PRETTY DARN GOOD
· The Bucks have earned 31 points so far during the 2003-04 CHL season. Thru 19 games the maximum points the Bucks could have earned is 38 total, so the Bucks have earned 81.6% of all possible points this year.
RED HOT BUCK
· Bucks forward Brent Cullaton has tallied seven goals in the last four games. Cullaton now leads the team with 12 goals this season. In addition Cullaton has recorded points in seven straight games.
DYNAMIC DUO
· Bucks forwards Jeff Bes and Brent Cullaton have been terrific this year. Each has tallied a point in seven straight games and they are tied for second in the CHL scoring race with 34 points apiece. In the last seven games the Bucks have scored 28 goals with Bes and Cullaton combining for 15 of that total, which is 53.5%. Bes has eight goals, while Cullaton has seven goals during this stretch.
WELCOME RETURN
· Bucks forward Patrik Nilson has been reassigned back to Laredo by San Antonio of the AHL. Nilson was called up on 11/22 and played in three games with San Antonio.
TURNING THE RED LIGHT ON
· The Bucks lead the CHL with 82 total goals in 19 games, and lead the CHL with an average of 4.3 per contest. On Saturday in Rio Grande Valley was the first time Laredo has scored five goals in a game since 11/14 at Austin. Laredo has scored five goals or more in a game nine times this year.
POWER PLAY SURGING
· The Bucks have scored multiple power play goals in five of the last six games. The Bucks are 11 for their last 34 power play chances, converting at 32.4% during this stretch. The Bucks lead the CHL at 25.0% on the man advantage.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
· The Bucks are in the middle of a season high four game road trip. The trip is split in half with two games last weekend, and two games this coming weekend. Laredo has the second best road record in the CHL at 7-2-0.
MORE THAN YOU GIVE UP, ALWAYS A GOOD THING
· The Bucks have the best goal differential in the league. Laredo has scored 82 goals, while allowing just 42. That is a difference of +40.
BUCKS WEEKLY GAME RECAPS
· 11/29/03 â SATURDAY â The Bucks battled thru another three in three weekend and picked up six total points as they beat the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees by the score of 5-3 at the Dodge Arena. Forward Jeff Bes had a four point night, including a goal, while forward Chris Grenville lit the lamp twice as the Bucks picked up their fifth straight win. Laredo is 15-3-1 and leads the Southeast division and the CHL with 31 points. David Guerrera stopped 34 of 37 shots to improve to 8-1-0. FINAL SCORE Laredo 5, Rio Grande Valley 3.

· 11/28/03 â FRIDAY â Down 3-0 with less than 18 minutes to go in regulation time the Bucks pulled off a remarkable comeback and grabbed a 4-3 shootout win on the prairies of west Texas over the San Angelo Saints. Forward Brent Cullaton had a pair of goals, including the game winner in the shootout. With their fourth straight win Laredo improves to 14-3-1. Bucks goalie Marco Emond improved to 1-1 in shootouts and 8-1-0 overall as he stopped 34 of 37 shots. The Bucks set a season high with 46 shots. FINAL SCORE Laredo 4, San Angelo 3 in a shootout.

· 11/27/03 â THURSDAY â Thanksgiving night the Laredo Bucks treated a season high crowd of 7,571 fans to a 4-3 win over the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at the Laredo Entertainment Center. Four different players scored as the Bucks used a balanced attack to pick up their third straight win and improve to 13-3-1with a Southeast division leading 27 points. David Guerrera stopped 19 of 21 shots to improve to 7-1-0. FINAL SCORE Laredo 4, Rio Grande Valley 2.
