Bucks To Raise Money For Wounded Warriors

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League are having a very special event Saturday at the LEC, when they hold Salute To Heroes Night. Part of the Proceeds from ticket sales to the Bucks game against Rio Grande Valley on Saturday, will benefit the Wounded Warriors Project. In addition, there will be limited seating for Veterans to get a FREE TICKET to the game, thanks to LNB, Westwind Homes, Doctors Hospital, and Whataburger. call 718-BUCK (2825) for more information.

"This event is a very big thank you to the Veterans for putting their lives on the line", said Bucks Head Coach and General Manager Terry Ruskowski. "This will be a memorable night at the LEC, and we encourage all of our fans to buy a ticket to help the Wounded Warriors Project".

The Wounded Warriors Project seeks to assist those men and women of our armed forces who have been severely injured during the conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other locations around the world. Many of the injuries are traumatic amputations, gunshot wounds, burns, and blast injuries that will retire these brave warriors from military service. The Wounded Warrior Project is a nonprofit organization.

"We want every single wounded warrior to know they are not alone. They have an extended family of fellow warriors and supporters standing by to offer friendship and support", said John Melia, Executive Director of the Wounded Warriors Project.

The Bucks will start a seven-game home stand Thursday, when they host the Odessa Jackalopes on Big Buck Thirsty Thursday, where beer is $2 all night long!
