Oakley CHL Player/Goaltender of the Week Announced

The Central Hockey League announced today that the recipients for the Oakley CHL Player and Goaltender of the Week for the period ending November 2nd, 2008 are forward Jason Duda of the Wichita Thunder and goaltender Alexandre Vincent of the Odessa Jackalopes.
Duda, playing in his 13th consecutive season with the Thunder, scored three goals with an assist last week notching at least a point in all three Wichita games. The Sexsmith, Alberta native has the Thunder at 3-5-0 sitting two points behind Rapid City for second place in the Northwest Division. In Friday's 3-1 victory versus Rocky Mountain, Duda collected his 500th assist with the Thunder. He then scored a goal in Saturday's game and two goals in Sunday's contest versus Rapid City. The veteran is among the top five in most CHL offensive categories ranking third in games played (690), fourth in points (827), third in goals (321) and fourth in assists (506).
Vincent won the goaltender of the week award last season on December 24th. He recently was re-signed by Odessa and last week played in two games. His first start came on Tuesday where he posted a 30-save, 7-1 victory over Amarillo. On Saturday night, the Drummonville, Quebec native made 22 saves in the Jacks 3-2 overtime loss to Arizona. Vincent has turned away 52 of 55 shots in his two starts this season. Last season, Vincent was a member of the CHL All-Rookie team posting a 21-11-4 record with four shutouts. He also played in net for the Southern Conference All-Stars.
In recognition of their achievement, both Duda and Vincent will receive a special gift from Oakley.
