Bucks Stunned By Blazers 4-3 In OT

LAREDO, Texas - The defending CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks were stunned as the Oklahoma City Blazers scored two goals in the last 14 seconds of regulation to tie the game then won it 4-3 in sudden death overtime at the LEC in front of 5,645 fans on Friday night. Blazers forward Jared Dumba scored 30 seconds into overtime to give Oklahoma City the win. The Bucks fell to 9-4-1, but still lead the Southeast Division with 19 points. Laredo is home on Tuesday against Rio Grande Valley to complete a three game home stand. The Blazers quickly jumped in front as forward Marty Standish picked up a loose puck and wrapped it around the near post 3:11 into the game. Past the halfway point of the first period the Bucks drew even. Defenseman Oriel McHugh fired a shot from the high point that went wide, but came back off the end boards to defenseman Adam Rivet who was able to snap it home from the right circle at 12:14. It was the fourth of the season for Rivet.
The Bucks took the lead on a power play chance in the second period. After a wild scramble in front Laredo forward Bobby Chaumont found the puck and lifted it into the net at 16:27 for his seventh of the season and a 2-1 Bucks lead. The goals extended Chaumont's point streak to a CHL high 10 straight games.
In the third period Chaumont found forward Chris Korchinski cutting down the slot and he finished with a wrist shot high glove side into the top corner of the net at 13:18 for his seventh of the year to make it 3-1. The Blazers then pulled off a stunner as forward Gordon Bell scored on a rebound at 19:46 and defenseman Mike Burgoyne tied the game 3-3 at 19:59 after a wild scramble in front.
The game headed to overtime and it took Oklahoma City just 30 seconds to pot the game winner as Standish found Dumba backdoor for a shot that went in five hole. FINAL SCORE Oklahoma City 4, Laredo 3.
Eric Marvin allowed four goals on 32 shots and fell to 4-2-1. Sean Connors stopped 30 of 33 shots and improved to 2-2-2. Laredo was 2-10 on the power play, while Oklahoma City went 0-4. The Bucks out shot the Blazers 33-32.
