Bucks Sign Penney, Judd To IR

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced Thursday that they have signed rookie forward Ryan Penney for the 2008-09 season. Penney, a native of Salmon Cove, Newfoundland, will be in the line-up Thursday when the Bucks host the Corpus Christi Ice Rays on Big Buck Thirsty Thursday's.

The 5'9, 190 pound Penney played junior hockey in three different league's prior to signing with the Bucks. He suited up in the MJAHL, OHL, and the QMJHL.

"He's quick, and he can shoot the puck", said Bucks Head Coach and General Manger Terry Ruskowski. "We've been looking at him for a while, and finally got him here".

*Judd To 14-Day IR*

Also on Thursday the Bucks announced that rookie defenseman Jaye Judd has been placed on the 14-day injured reserve list.

In five games with the Bucks, Judd has handed outone assist, and picked up two penalty minutes.

The Bucks will begin their second three-in-three of the season Thursday night when they host the Corpus Christi Ice Rays at the LEC. It's Big Buck Thirsty Thursday's, where beer will be $2 all night long. The Bucks will also be wearing special Halloween Jersey's that will be auctioned off after the game.
