Bucks Make More Moves, Trade Summers

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League made several more roster moves Thursday, including trading forward Matt Summers to The Mississippi Riverkings, to complete the Sebastien Centomo trade from earlier this summer.

The Savage, Minnesota native, began his second season with the Bucks this year, handing out three assists in five games before being traded to the Riverkings.

Summers had a solid rookie year last season, as he scored 12 goals, handed out 23 assists for 35 points.

Summers is slated to be in Mississippi by the end of the weekend.

*Bucks Sign Penney*

The Bucks also announced Thursday that they have signed rookie forward Ryan Penney for the 2008-09 season.

The 5'9, 190 pound Penney played junior hockey in three different league's prior to signing with the Bucks. He suited up in the MJAHL, OHL, and the QMJHL.

"He's quick, and he can shoot the puck", said Bucks Head Coach and General Manger Terry Ruskowski. "We've been looking at him for a while, and finally got him here".

*Judd To 14-Day IR*

Also on Thursday the Bucks announced that rookie defenseman Jaye Judd has been placed on the 14-day injured reserve list.

In five games with the Bucks, Judd has handed outone assist, and picked up two penalty minutes.

The Bucks will begin their second three-in-three of the season Thursday night when they host the Corpus Christi Ice Rays at the LEC. It's Big Buck Thirsty Thursday's, where beer will be $2 all night long. The Bucks will also be wearing special Halloween Jersey's that will be auctioned off after the game.
