Laredo Bucks News Release
LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced Saturday that they have signed All-Star Goaltender Andrew Martin. Martin is expected to suit up for Saturday night's game against the Corpus Christi Ice Rays at the LEC.
The Plano, Texas Native was an All-Star last year for the Scorpions, when he went 19-12-2 with a 3.12 G.A.A and a .903 sv%, to go along with two shutouts. Martin was the winning goaltender in the 2008 All-Star game, as he stopped 22 of 23 shots in the third period.
"To pick up another All-Star goaltender at this point in the season could be huge for our team", said President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. "I have always liked the way Andrew has played in net, he could be a big asset to our club".
Between Martin and Sebastien Centomo the Bucks have a combined four All-Star selections among their goaltenders.
Martin was waived by the New Mexico Scorpions on January 27th.
In 28 games with the Scorpions this season, Martin went 9-14, with a 4.06 G.A.A, and a .887 sv %.
The 6'1, 185 pound Martin is in his fifth professional season, including spending the last four in the CHL with the Fort Worth Brahmas, Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, Wichita Thunder, and the Scorpions.
