
Bucks Shutout At Home By Brahmas

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League fell to the Texas Brahmas 2-0 Saturday night at the Laredo Entertainment Center. Laredo is now winless in their last two games (0-1-1) as they fall to 7-3-3 (17 Points) on the season.
Texas rookie goaltender Joe Palmer picked up his first professional shutout as he set aside all 33 shots in net.
Laredo suffered their first regulation home loss this season (3-1-1), as they were shutout for the second time.
The Brahmas jumped out in front 1-0 just 6:37 into the game when Kevin McLoud scored off of a snap shot from the left point right off of a face off. McLoud, who leads all CHL defensemen in goals, picked up his sixth of the campaign. Texas improved to 5-0 when scoring first this season.
The Bucks outshot the Brahmas 9-4 in the first period.
Texas (7-7-2) would increase their lead to 2-0 when they struck on the power-play 9:04 into the second. James Hiebert hammered home a rebound from the bottom of the left circle to pick up his third goal of the year. Hiebert was playing his first game as a visitor in the LEC after helping the Bucks win both of their championships.
Laredo was outshot in the second period 16-13.
The Bucks had plenty of chances to cut into the Brahmas lead in the third period, but came up empty on five power-play chances in the final frame. Laredo was 0-for-six in the game with the man advantage.
The Bucks outshot the Brahmas 11-2 in the final period, as well as for the game 33-22.
Laredo pulled J.P Levasseur for the final 1:20 of the game to try and cut into the lead, but were unsuccessful. Levassuer stopped 20 of 22 shots to suffer his first regulation loss this season (6-1-2).
Igor Agarunov played in his 300th professional game Saturday night, and is one game away from tying Steve Weidlich for third-place all-time in Bucks history with 301 games played.
