Waterloo Bucks News Release

Waterloo, IA - The Waterloo Bucks, members of the Northwoods League, set a new franchise record for wins with last night's 6-4 extra innings victory over the Alexandria Blue Anchors. Waterloo's 47 wins this season tops the team's previous record of 46 that was set in 1998. With a record of 47-16, the Bucks look to add on to that total, as they have seven games remaining in the 2013 campaign.

In other news, the NWL has named Waterloo shortstop John Ziznewski the league's Player of the Night for his efforts in the Bucks' win over Alexandria on Monday evening. Ziznewski, a Long Island University product, went 3-for-4 at the plate, hitting his fourth home run of the season. The Staten Island, New York native scored twice and drove in two runs. Ziznewski is currently hitting .349 in 175 at bats.

Waterloo returns home on Tuesday to face the Lakeshore Chinooks, as they will begin a five-day homestand. With the July 30 Bucks/Chinooks game being suspended due to rain in the 10th inning with a 1-1 tie, the game will be resumed in Waterloo on Tuesday. Game time for the resumption of the July 30 game will be 6:05 pm. At the completion of that contest, there will be a 30-minute break before the start of the regularly scheduled nine-inning game. One ticket will allow fans to enjoy both contests. Group outings, single-game, and Playoff tickets are currently on sale. For more information, call the Bucks' Ticket Line at (319) 232-5633. All 70 Bucks games can be heard on 1330 ESPN (KWLO-AM).
