Bucks Fall to Allen

LAREDO, TX: The Laredo Bucks, of the Central Hockey League, were defeated by the Allen Americans 3-2.

The Laredo Bucks and the Allen Americans faced each other once again on Saturday night. This was the second of five consecutive meetings for the two teams. The Bucks defeated the Americans in overtime Friday night by a score of 4-3.

The Bucks and Americans had a scoreless, but physical first period. Mark Nebus dropped the mitts versus Dominic D'Amour at 15:08. The Bucks outshot the Americans 8-3 in the period.

The Laredo Bucks wasted no time getting on the board in the second period of play. Neil Trimm passed the puck to Matt Pierce, where he put it in the empty side of the net at 1:01. Just over one minute later Matt Pierce scored his second goal of the night at 2:08. This time it was a powerplay goal, assisted by Neil Trimm and Kyle Sibley that gave the Bucks a 2-0 lead. The game once again got physical when Mark Nebus and Dominic D'Amour dropped the gloves, for the second time, only three minutes into the period. The Americans would battle back and tie the game after Bruce Graham found the net at 11:51 and 16:31. The second period came to an end with the score tied 2-2.

Ryan Rondeau made some tremendous saves to keep the score tied throughout most of the third period of play. But, the Americans were able to break through and score the game winning goal with only 33 seconds left to play in regulation.

The Laredo Bucks have one final games remaining in their seven game road trip. They will face the Americans on Friday, January 6th before returning home to play Allen in back to back games, Saturday, January 7th at 7:30pm and Sunday, January 8th at 4pm, at the Laredo Energy Arena.
