Laredo --- The Laredo Bucks outscored the Memphis RiverKings 3-0 in the third period to break open a close game and come away with a 6-3 win at the Laredo Entertainment Center Saturday night. Rookie center Brett Arcand-Kootenay scored twice and former RiverKings goalie Nathan Grobins made 17 saves as the Bucks out-shot Memphis 44-20 for the game.
After Laredo took a 1-0 first period lead, Parsons would give the RiverKings the lead with two goals only to have Laredo score a pair in a row, one in the first and the other early in the second, to make it 3-2 Bucks. Parsons would then jam a puck home after Ryan Campbell carried it out front at 5:48 of the second to tie it at 3. But that would be it for the Memphis offense as Laredo would score two in the first 3:44 of the third period followed late by an empty netter to ice it.
The hat trick for Parsons was his 16th in a RiverKings sweater and his 33rd in his career. Guy St Vincent started and lost in the nets for Memphis, making 38 saves and allowing 5 goals.
The RiverKings fell back below .500 at 2-3-0 and Laredo, after starting 1-4-1, improves to 3-4-0.
