Buccaneers Visit Blank Children's Hospital

On Tuesday, February 23rd, members of the Des Moines Buccaneer hockey team visited the Blank Children's Hospital to spread some good cheer.

Blank Children's Life Services is this year's selected charity group for the 11th annual Guns N Hoses event. The Guns N Hoses is a hockey game that will be played between the Des Moines Metro Police Departments and the Des Moines Fire Departments, which will take place at Buccaneer Arena on Saturday, March 26th. Buccaneer Arena has hosted the annual Guns N Hoses game dating back to 2012.

Buccaneers players Chris Allemon, Patrick Grasso, Kenny Hausinger, Justin Howell, David Keefer, Nick MacNab, Alec Rauhauser, and Nick Wolff as well as members of the Guns N Hoses foundation visited children receiving medical care at blank Children's Hospital as well as their families in an effort to lift their spirits. All participants, from the players to the children to the staff members, all seemed to enjoy the event.

The Guns N Hoses game will be Saturday, March 26th, at 1:30 PM and tickets to the Guns N Hoses game are also good for the Buccaneers' game vs. the Tri-City Storm at 7:05 PM. For their game the Buccaneers will wear special Guns N Hoses themed jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game. All proceeds from the event will go to Blank Children's Hospital-Child Life Programs.
