Des Moines Buccaneers News Release

DES MOINES, IA - The Des Moines Buccaneers dominated the Indiana Ice on Friday night at Buccaneer Arena. Veterans H.T. Lenz and Yasin Cissé each had two goals in the 5-1 win over the Indiana Ice.

Neither team made much headway until the Buccaneers gained momentum late in the first period. Defenseman Danny Heath, off of assists from Chris Stafne and Yasin Cissé, put the Buccaneers on the board at 17:12 in the period. Things continued going the Bucs way when, with just 52 seconds left in the period, H.T. Lenz, with assists to T.J. Tynan and Connor Brickley, drilled in a goal to put the Buccaneers up 2-0. The team headed into the intermission with 11 shots on goal and just one penalty.

With another dry spell through most of the second period, Cissé would step up and record a goal of his own, putting the Buccaneers up 3-0. His shot, off of assists from Stafne and Ryan Walters, came with just 5 seconds left in the period.

Des Moines jumped out to a 4-0 lead when Lenz scored his second goal of the night, off of assists from Stafne and Walters, just under a minute and a half into the third period. The Ice would cut the chances of a shutout with a goal from Alex Wideman at 6:38, but the Buccaneers made the final statement in the game when Cissé scored a powerplay goal at 15:50 in the period. The goal, assisted by T.J. Tynan and Austin Coldwell, was Cissé's second of the night.

The Buccaneers went 1 for 6 on the powerplay. Goalie Eric Mihalik would stop 29 of 30 shots on goal and record the win tonight.
