Knoxville Ice Bears News Release

Knoxville, TENN. - Jeff Carr and the Knoxville Ice Bears announced Monday the signing of forward Stefan Brucato, for the 2019-2020 season.

Brucato, in his second professional season, had 31 points (9G, 22A) for the Ice Bears, in addition to the 30 points he posted for Knoxville during the 2017-2018 season. Brucato also had 76 points in 101 games plaid for Johnson & Wales University (NCAA III); he was named team captain in his senior year.

"Bru may be the most consistent player on our roster," Carr said of Brucato's performance. "He could seriously play any position on any line for us, and we're expecting an impressive year from him."

Brucato has a nose for the puck in clutch situations; he had 3 game-winning goals in 2018-2019 and turned the momentum on a few games late in the contests. Whether he's finding shooters with open lanes or scoring goals himself, Stefan Brucato is a reliable teammate and an important piece of the Knoxville lineup.

The Ice Bears forwards group is still gaining members, but the talent pool Coach Carr is bringing to training camp is poised to make a strong impression. SPHL training camps begin Sunday, October 6th, just days before exhibition weekend. The Ice Bears open their regular season, at home, October 18th against Evansville.
