Brown, Quattlebaum Earn Player of the Week Honors

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC â Charleston Swamp Foxes' Michael Brown and Terrance Quattlebaum have been awarded the teams' Players of the Week honors for their performances in the 45-42 win over Florida Firecats Saturday night. Brown earned the Fox Hole Fan Club's award, while Quattlebaum garnered the honor from the team.
Brown, a 6-0, 190-pound wide receiver/defensive back from Charleston Southern, led the Swamp Foxes' defensive effort Saturday night. He tallied seven total tackles, including six solo stops. That performance moved him into first place on the Foxes' all-time leading defender chart with 114.5 career tackles. He added to his career interceptions lead, tallying one in the end zone early in the second quarter.
Brown, who has seen the majority of his action as a defensive specialist, also caught one pass for 12 yards on a third and long situation on the game-winning drive.
Quattlebaum caught the game-winning pass from quarterback John Turman Saturday night. The 5-2, 185-pound offensive specialist hauled in five passes, two for scores, for a total of 34 yards. On the year, "Q" has tallied 466 yards receiving on 39 catches and seven touchdowns. He is averaging a total of 109.8 all purpose yards per game, leading the way for Charleston.
The Swamp Foxes conclude their two-game home stand this Saturday night, May 17, as they host the defending Atlantic Division champions, the Cape Fear Wildcats. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 pm, with the tailgate zone featuring the band "Butterface" starting at 5:00 pm.
