BROOKLYN, NY - Lowell southpaw Yorvin Pantoja spun five scoreless innings as the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Short Season, Class A affiliate of the New York Mets, dropped Friday night's series opener 3-1 to the Lowell Spinners at MCU Park.

Lowell's Yorvin Pantoja tossed five scoreless innings of one-hit ball with four walks, striking out one. Pantoja retired five of the final six batters he faced en route to the victory.
Manny Rodriguez's RBI double cut the deficit to 3-1 in the seventh against Spinners reliever Rio Gomez.
Leading 1-0 into the fourth, Lowell's Tyler Esplin homered off of the scoreboard in left field to push the lead to 2-0. Grant Williams' run-scoring single. KEY CYCLONES CONTRIBUTORS
