Swift Current Broncos News Release
Swift Current, Sask. - The Swift Current Broncos announced today that they have signed 2008-born defenceman Daxon Yerex to a WHL Scholarship & Development Agreement.
Yerex (6'1"/179lbs), out of Oak Bluff, Manitoba, was the Broncos third-round pick (52nd overall) in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft.
"Daxon is a very intelligent defender who makes good puck decisions," said Broncos General Manager Chad Leslie. "He has the ability to play a lot of minutes, can play either side and is comfortable in all situations. We are very excited to have Daxon join our organization."
Yerex has been playing with the RINK Hockey Academy out of Winnipeg this season. He played 30 regular season games, scoring four goals and adding 12 assists. Yerex added one assist in three playoff games for RINK as well.
Yerex also represented Manitoba at the WHL Cup in October, helping his province win their first ever Gold Medal at the tournament.
