Broncos Add Forward and Defenceman in CHL Import Draft

SWIFT CURRENT, SK - The Swift Current Broncos held the third and 63rd overall selections in Tuesday's 2020 CHL Import Draft, using them to select 2002-born defenceman Oliver Fatul and 2002-born forward Vladislav Demidovich.
Fatul, from Bratislava, Slovakia, spent the majority of the 2019-20 season with HKM Zloven in Tipsport Liga, the top professional league in Slovakia, recording two assists in 29 games. He was one of only two U18 defenceman to play more than 25 games in Tipsport Liga in 19-20.
The 6'4'', 179-pound defenceman was loaned to Finland's Tappara Junior program to finish off the season, playing four games with the U18 team and picking up four assists. He also played 12 games for the U20 team while recording one assist.
Fatul began the 2019-20 season by representing Slovakia at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, scoring one goal in four games. He was ranked 70th amongst European Skaters by NHL Central Scouting for the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
Demidovich, from Belarus, played the entire 2019-20 season with the Belarus U18 team in the Belarusian Extraleague B, the second division professional league in Belarus. In 54 games Demidovich scored 13 goals and added eight assists.
