Broncos Acquire Rylan Thiessen from Brandon

Swift Current, Sask. - The Swift Current Broncos announced today they have acquired 2001-born defenceman Rylan Thiessen from the Brandon Wheat Kings in exchange for a conditional ninth-round pick in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.

Thiessen, from Brandon, Man., appeared in 17 games for the Wheat Kings in the 24-game hub season in Regina, scoring once and adding six assists.

Undrafted into the WHL, the 6'1'' 192-pound Thiessen was signed by the Lethbridge Hurricanes in December of 2018 and has 56 career games to his name, split between the Hurricanes and Wheat Kings.

Prior to his WHL career, Thiessen won the Manitoba U18 championship with the Brandon Wheat Kings U18 team in 2018-19. Thiessen was named playoff MVP after scoring five goals and 14 assists in 11 games.
