Swift Current Broncos News Release
SWIFT CURRENT, SK - The Swift Current Broncos announced today that they have acquired 2003-born forward Carter Halamandaris from the Everett Silvertips in exchange for the 87th overall pick in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft.
Halamandaris, from Portage la Prairie, was originally drafted 86th overall by the Silvertips in the 2018 Bantam Draft. He was selected out of the Winnipeg Monarchs bantam team after scoring 34 goals and 25 assists in 30 games.
In 2018-19 Halamandaris played for the Winnipeg Wild Midget AAA team, scoring 11 goals and adding nine assists in 34 games. He then scored three goals with two assists in 11 playoff games.
This past season he upped his production to 31 goals and 24 assists in 42 games, putting him fifth in the Manitoba Midget Hockey League in goals. Before the playoffs were cancelled, Halamandaris scored four goals and four assists in just five games.
He was teammates with Broncos 2019 third-round pick Sam Court this past season.
He also made his WHL debut with the Silvertips December 15 against the Spokane Chiefs.
The Broncos would like to welcome Carter and his family to the organization.
