Bromberg Disabled, Nunez Activated

PEARL, MS -- Mississippi Braves RHP David Bromberg has been placed on the disabled list with right biceps tendonitis, retroactive to May 23. In corresponding moves, infielder Gustavo Nunez has been activated from the disabled list.

Bromberg, 26, is 2-3 with a 4.14 ERA in eight starts for the M-Braves this season. He gave up nine earned runs in his previous start on May 22. Bromberg entered that game with a 2.14 ERA. He's recorded 37 strikeouts in 37 innings. A native of Santa Monica, CA, Bromberg was signed by the Atlanta Braves as a free agent on January 10, 2014.

Nunez, 26, had been on the DL since May 8 with a strained left hamstring. He was hitting .307 with two doubles, two triples and seven RBI in 30 games for the M-Braves. Nunez was signed by the Braves as a free agent on October 30, 2013. He was originally signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Detroit Tigers on May 3, 2007. He spent five seasons in the Tigers system before being selected by the Pirates in the 2011 Rule 5 Draft.

The Mississippi roster has 25 active players and 4 disabled.
