
Brodey, Dibrell Propel Mets to 2-1 Victory at Dunedin

CLEARWATER, Fla. - The St. Lucie Mets extended their winning streak to three games with a tight 2-1 victory at the Dunedin Blue Jays on Saturday night.
Quinn Brodey hit a two-run homer in the second inning to account for the Mets offense. It was his second straight game with a homer.
Mets starting pitcher Tony Dibrell fired 5.1 scoreless innings to improve to 3-1. Dibrell scattered five hits, did not issue a walk and struck out six batters.
Carlos Hernandez pitched 1.2 scoreless innings behind Dibrell.
Blake Taylor got a one-out save, his fifth of the season. Taylor entered the game for Joseph Shaw with two outs and two runners on base in the bottom of the ninth. Christian Williams hit a RBI single to score Cullen Large and keep the game going.
Taylor recovered to strike out Demi Orimoloye to strand runners on first and second base to end the game.
Manny Rodriguez went 2 for 3 with a double and a run.
Jacob Zanon and Nick Meyer had the other hits for the Mets.
Blue Jays starter Nick Allgeyer took the loss. He gave up two runs on four hits in six innings.
The Mets (16-12) and Blue Jays (17-11) wrap up their series at Jack Russell Memorial Stadium on Sunday. First pitch is 1 p.m.
