KISSIMMEE, FL: Lights out pitching and timely hitting ruled the day again for the Coquis de Florida, who shut out the Tampa Tarpons, 3-0, and claimed their second straight shutout and fourth straight victory on Friday Night at Osceola County Stadium.

The Fire Frogs notched back-to-back shutouts for the second time in franchise history, also achieving the feat May 3rd and 4th, 2017 at Palm Beach.

Florida has now won four consecutive games for the first time since winning five straight July 6th-9th of last season.

The early run support came from Jefrey Ramos, who lifted one up-and-out to left, his fourth of the season, bringing Greyson Jenista in with him for a 2-0 Coquis edge.

Jenista would single to start the sixth and move up on a wild pitch ahead of Kevin Josephina. The Coquis first baseman obliged with an RBI double to right, moving the Florida lead to 3-0.

LHP Philip Pfeifer got to start for the first time in over a year, walking five and allowing a hit with five strikeouts over 3 and 1/3's innings. RHP Brooks Wilson relieved him, setting down five straight Tarpons.

RHP Matt Withrow (1-0) marveled in his first professional outing since 2017, scattering two hits and three punchouts over 3 and 1/3's frames while earning the winning end of the decision.

RHP Brandon White notched his second save while retiring the final two men on four pitches.

NEXT UP: The middle game of the weekend series takes place Saturday evening at 6 pm. RHP Freddy Tarnok (0-1, 7.20) is opposed by RHP Frank German (0-1, 3.77) on the mound.
