Brockton Rox News Release

Brockton, MA (Month day, Year) - The Brockton Rox will honor the American Legion Post 35 baseball team from Brockton for winning the 2007 State American Legion Championship on Sunday, August 12th. The team will be honored for its accomplishment at Campanelli Stadium this Sunday before the Rox take on the Quebec Capitales. Coaches and players will receive two free tickets to the game.

In the double elimination tournament to determine the American Legion State Champion, Post 35 was down early losing to Swampscott in their first game. However, they bounced back and won five straight games including victories over undefeated Framingham and a loss-avenging 17-4 thrashing of Swampscott to win the State Championship. This is the first state championship for Post 35 since 1954, the fifth total in the team's history.

Post 35 will play in the Northeast Regional Tournament in Burlington, VT beginning next Thursday. They will play the New Jersey state champions in game 1 of the tournament. Tickets for Sunday's Rox game and American Legion Post 35 pregame ceremony are available through the Rox ticket office at 508-559-7070 or online at www.brocktonrox.com.
