Brockton 1, North Shore 0 [Completion of Suspended Game from August 8th]

Brockton starter Bryan Morse was simply magnificent in leading the Rox to a win over the North Shore Spirit in the completion of the suspended game from yesterday. Morse pitched a complete game one-hitter, allowing only a single from Spirit RF John Welch in the ninth inning. He walked four and struck out five batters in the process. Morse's record is now 3-5 on the season. The only run scored in the game was on a RBI single by Rox SS Andre Alvarado in the ninth inning, plating CF Matt Maloney. Maloney was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate for Brockton. North Shore starting pitcher Matt Bishop pitched terrific as well in picking up the tough luck loss. Bishop went 8 1/3 innings allowing only the Maloney run on eight hits with four walks and four strikeouts.

The Brockton Rox got another superb pitching performance from their starting pitcher, this time Mike McTamney, in winning the regularly scheduled game against the North Shore Spirit. McTamney pitched a complete game allowing only a DH Alex Trezza second inning home run along with five hits and four strikeouts. McTamney moves his record to 4-7 on the season. Brockton CF Matt Maloney continued to have a terrific night at the dish as he went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run. Maloney combined had a 5-for-6 night with two runs scored and three RBI.

Worcester 4, New Jersey 3

The Worcester Tornadoes scored three runs in the third inning to take a 3-0 lead and would hold off New Jersey at the end to win by a run. Tornadoes leadoff hitter Dom Ramos went 3-for-5 at the plate with a run scored and two runs driven in. CF Keith Beauregard for Worcester chipped in with a 2-for-4 night including a double and a run scored. Tornadoes reliever Chris Shank picks up his fourth win of the season going three innings allowing two earned runs on three hits with two strikeouts. For the Jackals in the losing cause, C Matt Lauderdale went 3-for-4 with a run scored.

New Haven County 6, Grays 4

New Haven County scored two runs in the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie and went on from there to edge out the Grays. DH Henri Stanley and 2B Matt Mercurio each had 2-for-4 nights at the plate with Stanley scoring a run and driving in three. Cutters starter Ryan Bonesio moved his record to 7-5 on the season with a 6 2/3 inning performance giving up four runs, all earned, on six hits with three strikeouts. New Haven County closer Andy Weimer pitched a scoreless ninth inning to notch his 13th save of the year. 2B Josh Colafemina went 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Grays in the losing effort.

Atlantic City 6, Quebec 5

Atlantic City plates two runs in the ninth inning to come from behind and beat the Quebec Capitales. 1B Joe Burke on the night for the Surf went 3-for-5 with a run scored. LF Ed Montague, 3B Anthony Granato and C Wally Rosa each collected two hits apiece as well for Atlantic City. Surf reliever Matt Pike picks up the win pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing a hit and striking out a batter. C Greg Stevens and SS Jorge Mejia each had 3-for-5 nights for the Capitales.
