
Britton Placed on Disabled List

Rome, GA - Catcher Phillip Britton has been placed on the disabled list retroactive to May 12th. Britton was hitting .241 with seven RBI. Jeff Stevens joins the Rome Braves from extended spring training and hit .111 in Danville last season in limited play.
Stevens, a product of the University of Pittsburgh, had a solid collegiate career started all but eight games behind the plate for the Panthers in 2005 and threw out an impressive 29 of 58 possible base stealers (50.0 percent)...ranked third on the team with six home runs and was fourth with 31 RBIs...five of his six home runs came against Big East opponents.
Rome continues their eight game road trip tonight in Columbus before concluding their trip on May 19th against the Charleston Riverdogs. They return to action at State Mutual Stadium on Tuesday May 21st to begin an eight game home stand.
