Brittain Joins Admirals, Cousineau Sent to Fort Wayne

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks, NHL parent club of the AHL's Norfolk Admirals and ECHL's Fort Wayne Komets, have reassigned forward Josh Brittain (BRIH-tihn) to the Admirals from the Komets and have reassigned goaltender Marco Cousineau (MAHR-coh COO-sih-noh) to the Komets from the Admirals. The announcements were made today by Admirals Assistant General Manager Bob Ferguson.

Brittain, 6-foot-5, 225-pounds, has appeared in 31 games for the Komets this season, posting 13 goals and 27 points with 34 penalty minutes and a plus-10 rating. Brittain is tied for the Fort Wayne team lead in goals, leads the team in plus/minus and power play goals (3), is second in scoring and third in assists (14). The Ducks reassigned Brittain to the Komets on October 12. He has appeared in 78 career ECHL games between Fort Wayne and the Elmira Jackals, scoring 21 goals and 43 points.

The 22-year-old from Milton, Ontario, has yet to play a game with Norfolk. The third-year pro has appeared in 51 career American Hockey League games - all with the Syracuse Crunch - scoring two goals and seven points. Last season with the Crunch, Brittain appeared in 38 games and scored two goals and six points.

Brittain played four seasons of junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League between the Kingston Frontenacs, Barrie Colts and Plymouth Whalers, scoring 80 goals and 151 points.

Anaheim selected Brittain in the third round (71st overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Ducks on May 6, 2010.

Cousineau, 6-feet, 205-pounds, was reassigned to the Admirals on December 15. He served as backup goaltender in six games with Norfolk and did not see any action. Cousineau has appeared in three games this season for Fort Wayne, posting a 1-1-0 record with a 3.71 goals-against average and .888 save percentage. The 23-year-old from St. Lazare, Quebec, has appeared in six career American Hockey League games - all with Syracuse last season - posting a 3-2-0 record with a 3.32 goals-against average and .904 save percentage.

Cousineau has split his first three seasons of professional hockey between the AHL, ECHL and CHL. In 48 career ECHL games between the Komets and Elmira Jackals, he has a 22-18-5 record with a 3.28 GAA and .897 SV%. In 25 career CHL games with the Allen Americans, Cousineau has a 16-4-4 record with a 2.53 GAA and .911 save percentage.

Selected by Anaheim in the third round (83rd overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Cousineau made his professional debut with Elmira in 2010-11, posting a 21-16-5 record with a 3.23 GAA and .898 SV%. The 6-0, 195-pound goaltender played four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) from 2006-10, going 84-67-12 with a 3.11 GAA and .897 SV% in 176 games. In 2007-08, Cousineau led the QMJHL in wins, finished fourth among league goaltenders in GAA and was also named to the QMJHL Second-Team All-Star squad. In 2008-09, he helped Drummondville to the QMJHL's President's Cup championship while being named the most outstanding goaltender of the Memorial Cup Tournament.

Cousineau re-signed with Anaheim as a restricted free agent on July 17, 2012.
