
B-Sens Round out 2012 with 4-2 Win over IceCaps

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators ended the year on a positive note tonight by winning their third straight game in a span of four days, this time defeating the St. John's IceCaps, 4-2.
St. John's got on the board first on a power play goal scored by forward Maxime Macenauer, his seventh of the year, at 12:13. Paul Postma and Jason Jaffray were credited with the assists.
The B-Sens got even at 19:09 of the second frame on Mike Hoffman's seventh ringer of the year. The opportunity came on a power play with helpers from Jakob Silfverberg and Hugh Jessiman to tie the game at one.
In the third, forward Shane Prince, assisted by Cole Schneider, gave the B-Sens the lead on his sixth goal of the year at 7:11. Derek Grant's tenth goal of the season would come at 10:21, unassisted, while the B-Sens were shorthanded. Binghamton's third unanswered goal of the frame came from forward Mark Stone on an empty St. John's net at 18:38. Before all was said and done, Potsma would add a tally of his own for the IceCaps at 19:59 to make the final score 4-2 in favor of Binghamton.
Ben Bishop tended goal for the B-Sens and made 29 saves on 31 shots, increasing his season wins total to seven. Eddie Pasquale came away with the loss for St. John's, making 23 saves on 26 shots.
The B-Sens return to action on Friday, Jan. 4, at 7:05 p.m. as they'll host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Tickets are $19 for side seating and $18 for end seating.
