Bristol State Liners News Release
The Bristol Pirates, operated by the all-volunteer non-profit organization Bristol Baseball, Inc., announced recently that they have expanded Home Run Alley, the beer garden located on the third-base side of Boyce Cox Field, by offering draft beer in addition to several varieties of canned beer.
Currently, two lagers, Landshark and Devil's Backbone Vienna Lager, currently are available on draft. Those selections join a variety of canned national and local brews.
"We are particularly proud of our craft beer offerings from several Virginia breweries," Pirates general manager Mahlon Luttrell commented. "Our ability to sell beer at the ballpark the last few years has helped Bristol Baseball raise additional money as all of our volunteers work tirelessly to help raise the money necessary to keep professional baseball in Bristol.
"We are also thankful to the Pittsburgh Pirates for their donation of draft equipment, which allows us to pour our draft beers from a piece of McKechnie Field, the Pirates' iconic spring training home in Florida," Luttrell continued.
For the remainder of the 2015 season, all beers will be $2.50 each.
