
Brigley Acquired by Avalanche

HERSHEY â The HERSHEY BEARS announced today in conjunction with the Colorado Avalanche that Travis Brigley has been acquired from the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in exchange for future considerations.
A native of Coronation, Alberta, Brigley came to the BEARS on March 13th of this year on loan from the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. At the time of the acquisition, Brigley was the leading scorer for the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks with 18 goals and 45 points. He scored points in his first five games with the BEARS, and finished the regular season second in the AHL in short handed goals with six. In 2001-02, he scored a career high 22 goals while playing for Cincinnati. Brigley also has 19 games of NHL experience, all coming with the Calgary Flames
"Travis showed us at the end of last season how valuable he can be to our club," stated BEARS President/General Manager Doug Yingst. "He will undoubtedly be an asset to us and the Colorado organization.
The BEARS open up the home portion of the 2003-04 regular season on Saturday, October 18th against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Face-off is at 7:00 p.m. at GIANT Center.
